DWI arrest in Chestnut Ridge

On Sunday, May 18 at approximately 7:04 p.m. the Ramapo Police Department received a report of a one car accident with injuries on Crooked Hill Rd. in the Village of Chestnut Ridge.

Upon the responding officer’s arrival it was learned that a 2008 BMW was traveling west on Crooked Hill Rd. near the intersection of North Highland Ave., when the vehicle left the road.

After leaving the road the auto struck an embankment and several trees. The vehicle then crossed back over the road and hit a rock wall, coming to rest on top of it. The driver of the auto was one Tracey Trojan (50-year-old male) of Pearl River, N.Y.

The vehicle also had a 9-year-old male passenger. The 9-year-old passenger was taken to Nyack Hospital via ambulance for abdominal pain. He was then later transferred to Westchester Medical Center for further evaluation. Mr. Trojan refused medical attention at the scene.

As a result of the initial investigation by Ramapo Police Officers, the following charges were lodged against Tracey Trojan:

VTL 1192-2ab, DWI with a child 15 or less in the vehicle (felony)
VTL 1192-2, DWI blood alcohol level .08 or greater (misdemeanor)
VTL 1192-3, DWI (misdemeanor)
PL 120.00 sub 3, Assault 3rd degree (misdemeanor)
PL 260.10 sub 1, Endangering the welfare of a child (misdemeanor)
PL120.00, Reckless endangerment (misdemeanor)
VTL 1212, Reckless driving (misdemeanor)
VTL 1180-a, Speed unreasonable (violation)
VTL 1194-1b, refuse a breath test (violation)

At the time of this press release the defendant was being held for arraignment at the Ramapo Police station.
