The STAC students spent a day volunteering getting the old Camp Shanks Army buildings in shape for new uses for American war veterans. St. Thomas Aquinas College’s motto is “Making Success a Habit” and STAC’s varsity basketball team lived up to that, administrators boasted. Chaz Watler, Marcus Henderson, Alushula Odongo, Bradley Saxton, Kiernan Hayes, Matthew Lee, Justin Reyes, Jules De Courtenay, and Jonathan McNair, the team captain, all took part in the Day of Caring. Homes for Heroes is a nonprofit organization focused on providing affordable housing for homeless and disabled veterans.
