NANUET FUEL SPILL UPDATE: Clarkstown Police warn residents to keep kids away from storm drains

NANUET 3 p.m.

An overturned truck caused a fuel spill on the corner of Route 59 and College Rd. in Nanuet around 1 p.m. today and has led to the closure of Route 59 in that vicinity for the past two hours.

Police sent out a reverse 911 alert to residents warning that fuel had leaked into the storm drain system and advising parents to keep their children away from storm drains to avoid exposure to the toxin.
