YOUTH BUREAU SEEKS TRAINERS FOR T.E.E.N. WORKS PROGRAM

NEW CITY, NY – The Rockland County Youth Bureau is seeking professional trainers to facilitate workforce preparation training to teens participating in the T.E.E.N. Works (Teen Employment Education Network) Program.

T.E.E.N. Works is a 7-week program for teens and young adults between the ages of 14 and 21.  The program will offer pre-employment training and a possible paid job placement upon successful completion of the program. The goal of the program is for teens and young adults to become successful, contributing members of the workforce with strong goals for the future.  T.E.E.N. Works will run from July 7, 2014 to August 21, 2014 on Mondays – Thursdays from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The job duties of a T.E.E.N. Works Facilitator include:

  • The position will be approximately 25 hours per week
  • Reports directly to T.E.E.N. Works Coordinator
  • Deliver T.E.E.N. Works curriculum to participants
  • Assess participant’s understanding of the training content through written evaluations, observations and communication with participant
  • Provide regular feedback to Coordinator on participant’s progress
  • Prepare/carryout practical and interactive lesson plans from the T.E.E.N. Works curriculum
  • Provide feedback to the Coordinator about the T.E.E.N. Works curriculum
  • Communicate with T.E.E.N. Works Coordinator problems or concerns regarding individual participants
  • Complete a facilitator training
  • Complete participant assessments
  • Ability to implement T.E.E.N. Works style of planning and lesson delivery
  • Mandatory participation in T.E.E.N. Works facilitator training
  • Minimum one (1) year or more of experience working with youth
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Excellent communication and team working skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Plan and organize work according to the needs of the program participants
  • Ability to read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures to participants
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, 10:00 – 3:00 p.m. and some evenings
  • Ability to complete comprehensive assessments on the participants
