Second Annual Health Fair and Outreach Program at Nanuet Library

The second annual health fair and outreach program, “Building a Healthy Community,” is occurring next weekend. It will include participation by the Lions Club of Nanuet, the Indian Nurses Association of New York (INANY), the Haitian American Nurse Association (HANA), the Monsey Family Medical Center, Helping Kids Pediatrics, Dr. Reena Jacob, MD and Dr. Ronald Cobbs, MD. Handouts, courtesy of the Rockland County Health Department and InfoRock, will be available.

The event is open to the Rockland public and admission is free. It will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2014, 1 – 4 p.m. at the Nanuet Public Library, 149 Church Street, Nanuet, NY.

The project is coordinated by Rockland County Legislator Aney Paul, a Registered Nurse with several nursing degrees including a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a Masters in Public Health, said the goal of the health fair is to raise awareness of health-related issues and to promote a healthy lifestyle. Medical professionals will be on hand to provide information on children’s health, diet and exercise and to perform blood pressure, diabetes, vision and hearing screenings, dental screenings and calculate body mass index.
