Statement by Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino on 2015 State Budget

“A state budget that raises spending by a nickel is a failed opportunity. New York is systematically dying because of over taxing and overspending, and, here again, we are adding to a taxpayer burden which is already the highest in the nation. Governor Cuomo and I have a fundamentally different view of where New York government should be headed: He is using public dollars to try to buy votes and appeal to special interests; I will use the budget process to identify savings to put back in the pockets of average New Yorkers, just like I did in Westchester.

“Until we strike a healthy balance between what we want and what we can afford, New York will continue to chase away jobs and remain on the losing path.”
