LIU PROM DRESS DRIVE DECLARED A SUCCESS

The Counseling Honor Society of Long Island University (LIU) Rockland graduate program in Orangeburg, NY completed their annual Prom Dress Drive. This is the sixth year that the Honor Society has conducted its Prom Dress Drive. The students collected 150 formal gowns and dresses, 20 pair of shoes, and many accessories including handbags, rings, bracelets and necklaces. The collected items were given to the Salvation Army’s Suffern Temple in Spring Valley to be distributed free of charge to young women in the community.

“It’s a great feeling to know you are helping others”, said Dr. Thomas J. Nardi, the Director of the Counseling Programs and moderator of the Honor Society. “Our students are making it possible for girls in the community to celebrate a special birthday, a graduation, or other special occasion.”
