Ricardo G MartinezNANUET – A Spring Valley man has been charged with robbery and public lewdness after his victim spotted him more than a week later and alerted police in time for an arrest to be made, according to Clarkstown police.

The victim, police said, was approached by a man in a car on Feb. 28 at about 4:45 p.m. on Second Avenue in Nanuet. Police said the man exposed himself and then stole $200 from the woman. At the time, the man got away.

However, on Sunday at about 6:30 p.m., police said the victim spotted her attacker driving the same car as on Feb. 28. The woman called Clarkstown police, who in turn sought assistance from Spring Valley police in stopping the car.

Spring Valley police stopped Ricardo G. Martinez, 26, of Spring Valley, who was arrested and taken to Clarkstown police headquarters in New City. Martinez was later charged with third-degree robbery and public lewdness in connection with the Feb. 28 incident.
