Library Association of Rockland County Presents Renowned Author/Illustrator Dan Yaccarino

The Ramapo Catskill Library System has announced the local appearance of author/Illustrator Dan Yaccarino at the Valley Cottage Library on March 19, from 7 – 9 pm.

A prolific author, Yaccarino has sold over 1.5 million books during his career. His work is recognized in Parent’s Choice Award-winning animated TV series “Oswald” (Nick Jr) and Emmy-winning “Willa’s Wild Life” (NBC and Qubo) and character designs for “The Backyardigans” (Nickelodeon), as well as his many illustrated toys, games, and other children’s products.

Yaccarino’s illustrations have added wit and energy to the work of such prestigious authors as Margaret Wise Brown, Jack Prelutsky, Kevin Henkes and Patricia MacLachlan in addition to his own stories. Awards he has received include the Bologna Ragazzi, The New York Time 10 Best Illustrated, ALA Notable and the Parents Choice Award.

During the Valley Cottage program the author will speak about his own work. Books will be available for purchase and signing on a cash-only basis. Light refreshments will be served.
