Lon Hofstein Declared a Candidate for Legislative District 5

Lon Hofstein, a New City resident has become the leading Republican candidate to run against Barry Kantrowitz, (a Democrat majority appointee) in the upcoming special election to fill Ed Day’s formerly vacated seat in Legislative District 5.

Mr. Hofstein owns a successful accounting firm in NYC, is the President of the New City Little League a position he has held for the past 11 years and is a member of the Clarkstown Parks and Recreation Commission.

Mr. Hofstein indicates he wants to use his knowledge and experience in finance as well his experience in community projects to help county government and thus Rockland County overcome the fiscal ineptitude that has prevailed for more than a decade. He looks forward to becoming the Republican Party’s official nominee during the Town Nominating Convention in May.
