Famous Rock n’ Roll DJ indicted on sex charges

Dave Herman of Airmont, a former rock DJ for WNEW in New York, was indicted on Tuesday for charges related to attempts to transport a minor across borders for the purpose of sex, according to a recent AP report.

Herman was arrested in October for communicating with what he thought was the 36-year-old mother of a 7-year-old child. Though authorities stated Herman was attempting to arrange the transport of the child to the U.S. Virgin Islands for a sexual encounter, the defendant maintains he thought that the encounter would be with the mother.

Bail has been denied and Herman remains in custody.
