Personal Valentines Cards Created for Soldiers Deployed Overseas

New City-Recently, the New City Library held a drop-in session for children of all ages, including Maria and Sophia Vargas, to create hand-made Valentine’s cards to be sent to American soldiers serving overseas. Materials supplied included cutouts, stickers, glue plus colored pencils and pens.

The cards will provide personal connections to help boost morale and are guaranteed to put smiles on the faces of the soldiers. Words of encouragement included, “We know it’s an ongoing sacrifice, but we appreciate what you are doing every day” and “Thank you for your service to our country.”

These messages of love, caring and gratitude will connect hearts at home to hearts of deployed service members on this special day.
