Stony Point Police Ask for Tips in Robbery Case — Thief Sprayed Victim in Face with Pepper

The Stony Point Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred on Sunday, February 2, at approximately 7:45 p.m. in the vicinity of Govan Dr. and Waldron Dr.

According to police, the soon-to-be victim and suspect had agreed online to terms on the sale of an expensive pair of sneakers called Nike Yeezy 1. When they met, according to the victim’s account, the thief faked taking money out of his wallet and grabbed a pepper spray bottle, taking the sneakers and running away toward Waldron Dr.

The victim described the assailant as a hispanic male between the ages of 17 and 19, with black, short hair wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and gray jeans. The Stony Point Police Department is asking anyone who has any information with regard to the case to contact the Stony Point Detective Bureau at 845-786-2744.
