“Titanic,” the musical, presents a unique look at the event that resulted in the giant luxury ship hitting an iceberg with thousands perishing in the cold ocean. Directed by Don Stephenson with musical director Ian Weinberger and choreographer Liza Genaro, “Titanic” is a four star production. I rate it that way Four Stars Out Of Four Stars!!!! Elliot Forrest touts an Elmwood Playhouse showing of “The Purpose Project,” written and performed by Elizabeth Van Meter and directed by Joe Ricci set for Sunday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack. It is about Thao, a Vietnamese woman who, despite being born with life threatening birth defects, created a childrens library for her village. Tickets from ArtsRock.

A “Sweetheart Dinner” planned by Thiells United Methodist Church for February 15 at the church on Rosman Road in Thiells. Chef Daphney Jean-Pierre and her crew will prepare the event to benefit church missions. Tickets at 845-942-1481.

Garner Arts Center hosting “Love’s Fire,” an evening of dinner, theatre and dancing February 14 to support the fund to restore Garner Arts Center Gallery and Performance Space (formerly GAGA).
