Five to Ten Inches of Snow Forecast for Tuesday; Winter Storm Warning in Effect for Region

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the region from noon Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday, including all of Rockland County. The National Weather Service predicts 5 – 10″ of snow (updated prediction  5 a.m. Tuesday), beginning late morning/around noon, with the heaviest snow falling between the evening commute and midnight. The snow should be out of the area by Wednesday morning.

It will also be very cold tomorrow, with high temperature 15 – 20 degrees and wind 10 – 20 mph. Low temperatures Tuesday night will be around 5 – 10 degree F. In areas north of Rockland County the snow accumulation is expected to be less than in areas south.
