Junior Eric Favors Leads Pack, Named First-team All State Defense

Seven Rockland high school football players were named to All-State teams (including honorable mentions), including three from North Rockland. The only Rocklander to gain first-team All-State status was Eric Favors, the dominant defensive lineman from North Rockland. Favors also won Journal News Rockland County Player of the Year. The powerhouse is a senior next season and if he continues to improve, he is expected to be given a scholarship to a major university.

Other Class AA Rockland County players to earn honors include senior defensive lineman Mike Earlington of North Rockland, third-team defense; senior defensive back Eric Margolis of Clarkstown South, fourth-team defense; and senior defensive lineman Samuel Pierre-Louis of North Rockland and junior defensive back Gabe Cohen of Suffern, both honorable mentions.

In Class A, senior running back Giuseppe Maddalena of Tappan Zee earn third team offense, while junior Adonis Alcime of Nyack earned fourth team defense.
