A superstar in the world of folk music, Massengill came on the scene in the 1970s as part of the “fast folk” movement. David writes and sings his songs in the traditioal blues style as taught to him by his mentor the late great Dave Van Ronk, whom Massengill worked with as his roadie. Dave, an accomplished musician on guitar and the mountain dulcimer, has as his signature song “The Great American Dream.” Westchester’s Larry Kolker, blues style singer/songwriter and guitarist, will be opening for Massengill.

The concert will be at the New City Ambulance Corps Building on Congers Road in New City at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 19 with doors opening at 1:30 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring a potluck dessert to share with others. Borderline says John Guth, who they say did a great job at their picnic last August, will be the engineer for the opening concert and all through 2014.
