County Executive C.Scott Vanderhoef unveiled plans for a civil rights monument that will commemorate the Rockland County Commission on Human Rights’ 50th anniversary. The monument will be constructed together with the newly landscaped pathway that will lead to Dutch Garden County Park, that is expected to begin in 2014. The area slated for the civil rights project will include a retaining wall faced in granite and a water feature that will be placed in the center of a field in the shape of a map of Rockland County.
