One Step Closer to Victory for Stewart

After another round of counting, Andy Stewart maintains a two vote lead in the Orangetown supervisor election. The GOP will decide by tomorrow morning whether to appeal Judge Victor Alfieri’s decision to disqualify six absentee ballots they sought to have counted.

Judge Alfieri refused to disqualify any of the 42 ballots challenged by Republican Walter Wettje, but disqualified six of 12 ballots challenged by Democrat Andy Stewart. If the GOP does not appeal, then the count is over and Stewart will be declared the winner.
