Woman may have died before driving off the road

Cecile Destrade of Nanuet died Monday night after driving off of 42 Willow Tree Road in Wesley Hills. Police are investigating whether a preexisting medical condition triggered the entire event.

Ramapo officers found the car off the road in an area with thick shrubs and brush on Monday night. The officers gained entry into the car and found that the driver was not breathing and had no pulse. Rockland paramedics and Spring Hill Ambulance arrived on the scene and gave emergency medical care to her prior to transporting her to Good Samaritan emergency room, where she was later pronounced dead.

At this time there are no witnesses to the accident and it appears there was only the one car involved.
