RAMAPO BURGLARY & PETIT LARCENY

Benjamin Intorre Gerald CsapoBURGLARY, CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY, PETIT LARCENY
On October 15, 2013 at approximately 11 a.m., Ramapo Police responded to a reported dispute in front of 126 Route 59 Monsey. This location is the former Knobby’s bar and is currently an unoccupied building. Upon arrival, Ramapo Police discovered that a burglary of the building had taken place. Ramapo Police found two white males on the property.  Following a brief investigation, Ramapo Police discovered that the males had removed copper pipe from the building. Arrested was Gerald Csapo, age 57, of Garfield N.J. and Benjamin Intorre, age 55, of Pomona NY. Ramapo Police discovered that a third male had left the area prior to police arrival. Clarkstown K-9 responded and assisted in attempting to locate that third person. However, after a search of the area, that party was not located. Gerald Csapo and Benjamin Intorre were charged with burglary in the third degree, a Class D felony, criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, a Class A misdemeanor, and petit larceny, a Class A misdemeanor. Mr. Csapo and Mr. Intorre were arraigned before Judge Alan Simon. Both were remanded to the Rockland County Jail.  Mr. Csapo’s bail was set at $2,500. Mr. Intorre was remanded with no bail.  They were directed to reappear in the Town of Ramapo Court on October 21, 2013 at 10 a.m. Ramapo Police are continuing their investigation.

michael welshUPDATE—ADDITIONAL ARREST: BURGLARY, CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY, PETIT LARCENY
At approximately 10:50 a.m., the suspect who fled on October 15, 2013 was arrested at 130 Route 59, in the Village of Airmont. 130 Route 59 is an unoccupied former business.  Michael Welsh, age 36, a homeless male, was arrested and was charged with criminal trespass in the third degree, a Class B misdemeanor. This was for being inside this former business. Mr. Welsh was also charged with burglary in the third degree, a Class D felony, criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, a Class A misdemeanor, and Petit Larceny, a Class A Misdemeanor. He was arraigned before Judge Schoenberger in the Town of Ramapo Court.  He was remanded to the Rockland County Jail.  Bail was set at $10,000. He was directed to reappear in Town of Ramapo Court on 10/21/13 at 10 a.m.
