The man was taken from the raised rail line east of Route 9W to the park just off Gurnee Avenue, where a StatFlight helicopter took him to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla for treatment of serious injuries.

The victim was struck by a northbound train and volunteer firefighters were called to help set up a helicopter landing zone at the park at around 3 p.m. The man was treated by emergency medical personnel at the park until the helicopter arrived.
