Man charged in theft from vehicle at StonyPoint Ambulance Corps

BY BILL DEMAREST

STONY POINT – The probe into missing cash from a vehicle parked at the Stony Point Ambulance Corps building has led to a theft charge against 30-year-old Josef M. Segelbacher, according to Stony Point Police.

Lt. Keith Williams said the theft was reported on Friday, Sept. 27, and an investigation led to Segelbacher’s arrest on Saturday, Sept. 28. Segelbacher is charged with petty larceny and he was released pending a hearing in Stony Point Town Court on Nov. 7.

Segelbacher is listed as “undomiciled” by police, with no available address. Information on the amount of money taken and the ownership of the vehicle involved was not available.

It’s the second time in the past 18 months Segelbacher has found himself in trouble. In May 2012 he was arrested in Pomona by the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department on charges of driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and a felony charge of driving with a suspended license. The Rockland County District Attorney’s Office says that case is still pending in court.
