Stony Point Ambulance Corps Honors Clerk of the Works

Stony Point Ambulance Corps (SPAC) had a special ceremony on August 29. The evening came as a surprise to SPAC’s Honorary Member and Clerk of the Works Sam Richmond, as he was greeted by a room full of members, friends, and family honoring his contributions to the construction of this state-of-the-art emergency medical services facility which officially opened one year ago.

Town Supervisor Geoff Finn presented Richmond with a certificate of recognition for his diligent work on behalf of the residents of Stony Point. Also, in attendance was the building’s architect, Martin Sendlewski, A.I.A., who donated a plaque in Sam’s honor. SPAC 2nd Lieutenant, MonicaDuarte, presented Richmond with a new Corps shirt.

The highlight of the evening came when emcee SPAC President Joseph Segelbacher, Sr. announced that as a result of Richmond’s tireless efforts and the many decisions he made during the construction phase on behalf of SPAC that its board room will be dedicated in his honor. The plaque, which Sendlewski donated, reads, “This board room is dedicated in honor of Sam Richmond, our construction Clerk of the Works, for his hard work, dedication, and commitment to the Stony Point Ambulance Corps. Presented this day-August 29, 2013.”

Ambulance Corps spokesman John Orfini said, “It was a momentous evening for all and a special event in the annals of the Stony Point Ambulance Corps’ history.”
