Shriner’s Klown Klub to be Featured at German Masonic Park

224199_106745639413931_5409799_nThe Shriners Klown Klub of New York will present their second annual Shriners Circus with 10 shows between September 19-22 at the German Masonic Park, 120 Western Highway in Tappan.

After 20 years of not having a clown club or circus in the New York area, Noble Tom Lorentz decided, with the approval of the shrine, that it was time to restart both, forming the Klown Klub of Mecca in 2009. After clowning around for three years and entertaining children in hospitals and at various community events throughout the tri-state area, Lorentz found a circus producer to help and guide the Klown Klub through the difficult task of putting on a circus.

Last year’s first Shriners Circus was a great learning experience and success with over 55 volunteers and 35 clowns from five states. This year the circus will have face-painting, camel and pony rides, cotton candy, popcorn, hotdogs, novelties, a bouncy ride, moon slide and Good Humor ice cream. There will also be an opportunity for kids to take pictures in a 1927 Ford Klown Kar with the clowns for free.

On Thursday, Sept. 19 and Friday, Sept. 20 there will be shows at 12 noon and 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 will have three shows at 12 noon, 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 22 will have shows at 12 noon, 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

This is one of the most affordable family events on the calendar this year. The first show on Thursday, Sept. 19 is free to seniors, veterans and first responders and the Thursday 6:30 p.m. and Friday 2 p.m. shows are half price. For advanced sales you can save $3 off the ticket price, buy coupons online and save $2 off (discounts cannot be combined).
