CHEESECAKE QUEEN WINS AGAIN

Lisa Dosch of Nyack has won again at the 2013 NJ State Fair, that’s two years in a row. Lisa‘s blueberry cheesecake won first place in the blueberry contest; her plain cheesecake won first and her coconut cheesecake won second in the cheesecake contest; and her perfect pecan pie bars also won first place in the cookie bar category. Last year Lisa won first place for both the plain category and the flavor category for her pumpkin cheesecake.

“Watching the expressions on the customer’s faces are always an enjoyment to watch. I tell everyone to let it melt in their mouth. Then the full flavor fills your pallets and you’re in cheesecake heaven. You can actually see the expressions on their faces and their body language change and that is when I get the full satisfaction from all my baking,“ Lisa said.

Lisa bakes and sells cakes at the West Gate Restaurant located at the Best Western Nyack On Hudson on Route 59 in Nyack. Her family has owned and operated it for almost 50 years. With her father, Masis Parseghian along with her brother’s Gregory Parseghian, Jimmy Parseghian and sister Donna Maccaro it’s a family affair.
