STONY POINT POLICE DEPARTMENT:

pfaff (2)DWI & RECKLESS DRIVING
Katherine A. Pfaff, age 25, residing at 110 Central Hwy., Stony Point, NY, was arrested on August 14 for DWI per se, DWI, reckless driving and numerous vehicle and traffic violations. Stony Point Police arrested the defendant after investigation into a motor vehicle accident on Washburns Ln. revealed she was operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition and in excess of .08 BAC at the time of the accident. The defendant was arrested, processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable on September 17, 2013 at 1:30 p.m.

ROCKLAND COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE POLICE DIVISION

SUPPORT PROCEEDINGS
John Schmidt, age 42, of Rochester, NY, was arrested on an arrest warrant issued out of Rockland  County Family Court on support proceedings. Schmidt was arraigned in front of Judge Warren and  remanded to the Rockland County Jail pending a future return court date at Rockland County Family Court.  As of August 9, 2013, Schmidt owes a private party $49,837.

CLARKSTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT:

DRIVING WHILE IMPAIRED BY DRUGS, DWI, AUO & MORE

Craig Lerner, 33, from New City, was arrested on August 8, 2013 at approximately 11:25 p.m. for driving while impaired by drugs, driving while intoxicated, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 1st (all felonies), possession of hypodermic instrument (misdemeanor) and several vehicle and traffic violations.  Lerner was arrested after he was involved in a one vehicle accident on Rt. 304 near intersection with Germonds Rd. Lerner was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court before Judge Ugell and remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5000 bail.  He is due back in court on August 12, 2013.

Edward Mandel, 47, from New City was arrested on August 10, 2013 shortly after midnight for two counts of driving while intoxicated (misdemeanor) and several vehicle and traffic violations.  Mandel was stopped on Lake Road in Congers after his vehicle was observed speeding and veering off the road.  Mandel was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Clarkstown Justice Court on August 26, 2013.

Dimitri Millis, 19, from Nyack, was arrested on August 10, 2013, shortly before 4 a.m., for two counts of driving while intoxicated (misdemeanor), and several vehicle and traffic violations including failure to take a breath test.  Millis was stopped on Rt. 59 in Nanuet after the vehicle he was driving had only one functioning headlight.  Millis was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Clarkstown Justice Court on August 14, 2013.

 

 

 

DWI & UNSAFE TURN
Gabriela Barba Heras, 23, from Nyack, was arrested on August 11, 2013,  at approximately 2:30 a.m., for two counts of driving while intoxicated (misdemeanor) and unsafe turn.  Barba Heras was stopped on Rt. 59 in Central Nyack after she was observed making several vehicle and traffic infractions.  Barba Heras was issued an appearance ticket returnable on August 26, 2013.  No photo available.

carpenterATTEMPTED ASSAULT & ESCAPE
John Carpenter, 31 from Hawthorne, NY, was arrested on August 9, 2013, shortly after 9 a.m., for attempted assault 3rd, and escape 3rd (both misdemeanors). Carpenter arrived at 108 Strawtown Road, West Nyack in an intoxicated condition and began to cause a disturbance. Carpenter pulled the hair of a female victim and pushed a male victim.  Neither victim sustained an injury.  Carpenter was placed under arrest and while seated, handcuffed in the rear of a police vehicle, kicked a uniformed police officer in the chest. Carpenter then fled the scene on foot and was subsequently subdued by the use of an electronic control device.  Carpenter was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court before Judge Thorsen and remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 bail.  He is due back in court on August 12, 2013. The officer was uninjured.
