The weekly newspaper the Rockland Review, in circulation since 1976, has recently undergone an interesting change in format. Last week its entire main news section consisted of republished articles from the Journal News daily newspaper, with credit noted at the end of the article. An article from the Bergen Record also was reproduced.
It is not clear whether this arrangement was approved by the Journal News or the Review went ahead and did so on its own.
By contrast, The Rockland County Times publishes primarily exclusive material authored by staff journalists and volunteers. Editor-in-Chief Dylan Skriloff stated, “Given their new format, I am deeply insulted the Review has not stolen any content from the Rockland County Times.”
