Stony Point Senior Division All-Stars Compete in State Finals this Week

The Stony Point All Stars have two mottos, “get the job done today” and “leave it all on the field,” which is what they have been doing the last two weeks. They call themselves TEAM standing for “Together Everyone Achieves More” and as they represent the Town of Stony Point and all of Rockland County, they appear to have a great shot at the state title.

Sacrifices have been made by the players and family members of the players. It takes many hours of practice and in the last two weeks they have spent about six nights a week together. “It’s all about the team bonding and getting to know each other on and off the field, this leads to the success of the team,” saidTommy Crapanzano, their team manager.

In the last nine games the team has had eight wins and one tough loss, but with their determination they have already captured the titles Rockland County District 18 and New York Section 4 Champions. With a supportive fan base, they go on confidently to compete for the state title this weekend on Long Island.

“As the manager of this team I am extremely proud of all the boys and their accomplishments, their sacrifices and their high level of competitiveness. We’ve won two titles and we will proudly represent the Town of Stony Point during our journey together,” said Crapanzano.

The first game of the state finals is Thursday night and the championship will be played Sunday. The Senior Division is part of the Little League. If Stony Point wins states, they will then go on to Regionals and after that is the final stage, the World Series.
