Man hit and killed by train in Stony Point

Friday night, July 19 at around 10:30 p.m. Stony Point PD found 60-year-old Kenneth Brunck dead by the train tracks in the area of West Shore Dr. in Tomkins Cove.

The police had been called to the area after receiving a report of a man struck by a CSX freight train. The investigation is continuing but the death does not appear to be suspicious, police said.

The Stony Point Police Department was assisted by the Haverstraw Town Police Department, CSX Railroad Police, Rockland County Sheriff’s BCI, Wayne Hose Fire Department, Stony Point Volunteer Ambulance Corp., Rockland Paramedics, and the R.C. Medical Examiner’s Office.
