NYGOP Finance Director Jason Weingartner Elected National Young Republican Chair

FROM NY GOP

At their Biennial Convention in Mobile, Alabama this weekend, the Young Republican National Federation elected NYGOP Finance Director Jason Weingartner as their new chairman – the first New Yorker to hold that position in 60 years.

Jason had previously served as president of the New York Young Republican Club and chairman of the New York State Young Republicans. He is the current treasurer of the New York State Young Republicans and vice chairman at-large for the Young Republican National Federation.

New York YR organizations also received three national awards: Outstanding Club Website (New York Young Republican Club), Outstanding Small Club (Putnam County Young Republicans) and Outstanding Charitable/Community Service Project Award (Orange, Dutchess and Putnam County Young Republicans’ Tri-County YR Mixer benefiting Hudson Valley Honor Flight).

“It is truly an honor to have been voted by acclimation as the chairman of the Young Republican National Federation,” said Weingartner. “The YRNF has a long legacy of promoting the Republican message of economic freedom and personal liberty and I look forward to proudly helping deliver this message to our generation nationwide.”

NYGOP Chair Ed Cox said, “Jason has been a reliable partner in building the Republican Party here in New York State. With Jason, it’s always ‘party first:’ his ability to organize and recruit well-intentioned and competent individuals to our cause has been invaluable as we build a permanent party infrastructure in New York that will last our state for decades to come. As Jason stands up as YRNF Chair, I am proud to stand with him.”
