Nanuet Hebrew Center has been named Chapter of the Year by the Metropolitan New York Region of USY (United Synagogue Youth). The Metro NY Region (“METNY”) consists of Rockland, Westchester, Orange, Nassau and Suffolk counties as well as the five boroughs of New York City. This annual award is bestowed upon the USY chapter that exhibits leadership, creative programming, the spirit of helping others through charity and membership growth. The NHC chapter, in four short years, has grown from a handful to well over 50 members. Todd Steingart, Youth Committee Chairman and Vice President of Nanuet Hebrew Center noted, “This is an awesome success story for Nanuet Hebrew Center. Not only do we have over 50 kids in our USY and Kadima youth programs, we continually send record numbers of kids to regional events and to summer USY programs like USY on Wheels, Israel Pilgrimage and USY Encampment.”

To help ensure the continued growth and development of its youth and youth programs, Nanuet Hebrew Center is offering free kindergarten through 2nd grade religious school for the 2013-2014 school year. According to Bruce Pollack, Co-President of Nanuet Hebrew Center, “this is a strong statement our Shul is making which will provide local families, including those with no synagogue affiliation, with a quality and affordable Jewish education for their young children.”
