Socks for Soldiers

Socks for Soldiers is coming to Rockland County. The program supplements the efforts of the Yarmouth Rotary in MA which forwards care packages directly to troops stationed on the front lines of Afghanistan.

One of the most precious items requested for troops is socks, as described by the Yarmouth coordinator who states that muddy season runs till October and soldiers wear their socks until they can’t anymore. Soldiers hope for no sores or infection from muddy socks and receiving an extra clean pair of socks is always a welcome event.

Socks for Soldiers will run through July 10 and the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rockland County has generously agreed to be a “drop off location” for donations. Please consider making a donation of new socks that can be dropped off or mailed to:
