The Stony Point dolphin that was all the buzz on Memorial Day has been found deceased, officials confirmed. Reportedly, a boater discovered the deceased mammal Thursday night and alerted the Rockland County Sheriffs.
When it was spotted not far from Ba Mar mobile homes on Monday experts warned that dolphins that find themselves far off track of where they normally swim often are sick and/or elderly and on the verge of death.
Dolphins are warm-blooded mammals and are not considered “fish” by biologists. Whales and porpoises are also mammals.
