ARREST MADE IN SPRING VALLEY STABBING

PRESS RELEASE FROM RAMAPO PD

On April 25 at approximately 7:39 p.m., Ramapo Police responded to Fresh Cuts Barber Shop 316 N. Main St., in the Hillcrest section of the Town of Ramapo for a reported assault.

Upon arrival, Ramapo Police Officers found a 47-year-old male who stated that he had been stabbed inside the barber shop.  The victim, of Spring Valley NY, suffered a non-life threatening chest wound.  He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital by Spring Hill Ambulance.  Rockland Paramedics assisted at the scene.

Investigation at the scene revealed that Franklin Desamours, age 54, of New Hempstead NY had stabbed the victim with scissors while inside the barber shop.

Desamours was charged with Assault in the second degree, a Class D Felony, Criminal Possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Menacing in the second degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

At the time of this press release, he was being held at the Town of Ramapo Police Department awaiting arraignment.
