Photo Courtesy Andy CooneyCooney and his entourage have been performing at the popular dinner theatre in Elmsford for 15 years and he tells the Rockland County Times the show sells out every year. Cooney brings with him his band in which his son, Ryan, whom he describes as a very talented singer and dancer, performs. Three Irish sopranos, Annemarie Gillman, Sarah Bass and Gillian Quinn join the show along with others.

Cooney was born in New York City as were his parents before him, while his grandparents came from Dublin. Cooney, a musician, songwriter and vocalist is just coming from playing at a St. Patrick’s ball in Binghamton, performances in California and a cruise out of Florida. One of the songs he will sing in the March 11 show, matinee and evening performances, is “I Won’t Turn My Back On You” which Cooney recently recorded.

Looking toward the future, Cooney is working on new songs and CDs and traveling the world doing Irish shows. Tickets for Forever Irish at 914-592-2222 or broadwaytheatre.com.
