ANNIE RABBIT RUNNING FOR ORANGE COUNTY CLERK

PRESS RELEASE

GOSHEN– Annie Rabbitt, joined by her family, friends, and supporters, Wednesday announced that she intends to seek the nomination of her party for the position of Orange County Clerk. The announcement took place Wednesday afternoon at Delancy’s Resturaunt in Goshen, NY. Rabbitt currently represents parts of Orange County and the Town of Ramapo in Rockland County in the State Assembly.

Rabbitt spoke about the important public service that the current Orange County Clerk, Donna Benson, has provided Orange County residents over her tenure. She thanked County Clerk Benson for her leadership and service in the County Clerk’s position. Rabbitt also talked about the support of her family and friends through her career in public service thus far. She described why she wanted to move forward to seek the nomination of her party, and take the next step to serve the residents of Orange County in a different capacity. She explained why she believes she is the best candidate by talking about her experience for the job of Orange County Clerk, and she talked about the need for government to be more fiscally responsible and efficient to the people it serves.

After the announcement, Rabbitt stated, “It’s humbling to have the support of those who came to hear my announcement today, and I hope that in the months to come, the people of Orange County will be supportive of my efforts to seek the Orange County Clerk position. I believe I have the experience for the job, and I hope to earn the trust of the people during this campaign.”

If Rabbitt wins, a special election will be held to fill her remaining term in early 2014.
