Nyack Beach State Park to be Repaired by Memorial Day

Rockland Assemblyman Kenneth Zebrowski told constituents this week at Nyack Beach State Park will be “repaired and up and running by Memorial Day.” At the Environmental Conservation Joint Legislative Budget Hearing earlier this week, Commissioner Rose Harvey of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation assured Zebrowski the park would be opened by the holiday which marks the unofficial beginning of summer.

Memorial Day is a popular day at Nyack Beach State Park and many other area parks. The walkway path along the Hudson River at the park sustained major damage as a result of Hurricane Sandy. “It is important that we rebuild this locally significant park that provides both economic and recreational benefits,” Zebrowski said.
