NYC SANDY BENEFIT CONCERT TO REACH OVER 1 BILLION PEOPLE

The producers of “12-12-12” announced this week that the concert, scheduled for December 12, 2012, at 7:30 PM (ET) at Madison Square Garden to aid the victims of Hurricane Sandy, has secured distribution to over one billion people.

The concert will be viewable on 34 US networks and television feeds worldwide. It can also be heard on radio and seen streaming online. “12-12 12”, which is presented by Chase, will be distributed across networks and feeds in North and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. Tickets to “12 12-12” went on sale this week.

With every major U.S. media company airing the benefit on at least one of their networks, 34 channels will “take over” TV for the night.

Iconic performers Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, Dave Grohl, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Chris Martin, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Roger Waters, Eddie Vedder, Kanye West, The Who and Paul McCartney will perform at the “12-12-12” concert on December 12, 2012 at Madison Square Garden.

Tickets for “12-12-12” are already on sale through Ticketmaster phones, outlets and www.ticketmaster.com, www.thegarden.com and www.radiocity.com.  Ticketmaster has agreed to waive its ticket service charges.

As the tri-state region begins to recover from Sandy’s devastation along the coastal areas of Long Island, Queens, Staten Island and New Jersey, there remains an enormous task of rebuilding both the infrastructure and thousands of shattered lives. “12-12-12” presents an important opportunity for the community and nation to come together to provide significant support to these communities as they confront staggering short- and long-term issues.

Net proceeds from the concert will go to the Robin Hood Relief Fund, which is providing money, material, and know-how to local organizations that are serving families and individuals in the regions hardest hit by the storm.
