JOE CARVIN DEFENDS VINCE REDA

Dear Editor,

There has been a lot of hand wringing and finger pointing in the Republican Party after our disappointing election results.

Countering that trend, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Rockland Republican County Chair Vinny Reda for his support for my campaign for Congress. Chairman Reda delivered on everything he promised and more.   Chairman Reda not only delivered on campaign logistics like petitions, lawn signs and phone calls but more importantly he threw his full support behind our issues-based campaign encouraging Rockland County Republican leaders to get behind us.

There has been a lot of talk post campaign about the Republican Party not reaching out to minorities. That criticism cannot be attributed to our campaign. Chairman Reda encouraged me to use my language skills to conduct the very first Tele Town Hall in Spanish and to go on a local Haitian TV program speaking in French.

Finally, and most importantly Chairman Reda is a gentlemen.  That was obvious in the way he treated my wife and family.  I am honored to have had Chairman Reda’s support and am deeply grateful for his commitment to a campaign of substance designed to meet head on the many challenges facing our community.

Joe Carvin

2012 GOP Congressional candidate, defeated by Democrat Nita Lowey
