Closing Dates Announced for DRCs in Rockland County

Rockland County Executive Scott Vanderhoef today announced that the two FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC), opened in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, will be closing in early December. The DRC in the Village of Piermont, located at Village Hall, will be closed after December 1. The other DRC at Provident Bank Park in Pomona will remain open until December 7.

Residents can come to any of the DRCs to learn about applying for federal disaster assistance grants from FEMA. Vanderhoef, in a press release, urged Rocklanders who need to apply, but still have not, to go to one of the DRCs and apply. Residents can also apply for aid from the Small Business Association of America (SBA) in the form of low interest loans for homeowners and small businesses. The deadline to apply for those SBA loans is December 31.
