ROCKLAND COUNTY WELCOMES 124 NEW CITIZENS AT NATURALIZATION CEREMONY

Rockland County Clerk Paul Piperato hosted a naturalization ceremony on Friday, October 5, 2012 at the Clarkstown High School North in New City. Piperato administered the Oath of Allegiance to 124 new citizens from 33 countries.

Hon. Victor J. Alfieri served as the officiating Supreme Court Justice. Clarkstown School District Superintendent Dr. J. Thomas Morton and the high school’s Principal, Mr. Harry Leonardatos offered a welcome. The keynote speaker was Rockland County Legislator Edwin “Ed” Day. Twelve-year-old organ transplant recipient Ms. Lauren Shields spoke on behalf of the New York Organ Donor Network.

The Clarkstown High School North Chamber Choir and Dance Team performed several musical selections, while hundreds of the high school’s students observed the ceremony.
