Day of Unrest — Clarkstown Citizens Wake Up to Vandalism Spree this Sunday

On Sunday, July 8, the Clarkstown Police department received more than 20 complaints of criminal mischief to parked vehicles. 

Rocks were used to break vehicle windows in 15 separate incidents and in other incidents police said windows were broken in an as yet undetermined fashion. All incidents occurred sometime overnight July 7 and 8 (Saturday into Sunday) and occurred in various areas of Clarkstown: 15 in New City, three in Bardonia, and three in Nanuet.

In total there were:
– 13 rear windshields broken
– 5 front windshields broken
– 3 driver side windows broken
– 1 passenger side window broken
– 2 unspecified windows broken
– 2 driver side mirrors broken

Law enforcement authorities ask that anyone with information regarding these incidents contact the Clarkstown Police Department. The public is also encouraged to contact the police department if they see or hear anything suspicious. The number is 845-639-5800.
