Jake Johannsen will fly from L.A. to Rockland, a place he has never been nor heard of prior to Levity Live reaching out to him. “I am excited to experience this new venue and look forward getting to know the “People of Rockland County,” says Jake.
Even though he said is accustomed to performing at much larger venues Jake is happy to give back; “I was raised in a small town in Iowa and understand the everyday stresses people endure especially in today’s economy. I am looking forward to making a connection with the people of Rockland County and promise to give them something to laugh about during my performance.”
Jake Johannsen is a self-confessed raconteur of weird stories. It’s no wonder that Jake is one of David Letterman’s favorite comics. Not only funny and easy on the eye’s Jake is a really down to earth kind of guy and was a pleasure to interview.
With over thirty five Letterman appearances under his belt (not to mention a handful of Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Politically Incorrect gigs) Jake is no stranger to late night television. His late night appearances gave Jake the exposure he needed to land his very own HBO comedy special, “This’ll Take About An Hour.”
Jake received incredible reviews, strong ratings, and a Cable Ace Award nomination for Best Writing in an Entertainment Special. People Magazine rated the special as one of the “10 Best Television Shows of the Year,” and TV Guide named it one of the “50 Funniest Moments of TV.”
Jake will be performing May 31-June 3 at Levity Live Palisades Mall in West Nyack. Tickets range from $17-20.00, Must be 18 & over to attend. To purchase tickets and for additional information visit Levity Lives web: www.levitylive.com.
Rockland is in for a real treat, this show is on my personal “Not to be Missed” A-list. This Reporter is looking forward to Jake’s performance and always appreciates the overall experience to Eat-Drink and Laugh at Levity Lives Comedy Club. Hope to see you at the show!
