Cardinal Dolan to be in Pearl River for 50th Annual St. Patrick’s Parade

Timothy Dolan, recently named a Cardinal in the Roman Catholic Church, will be in Pearl River this weekend

Perfect weather predicted for big party

The 50th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Pearl River, the second largest in New York State, got even more exciting when it was announced that newly appointed Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of the Diocese of New York, will be in town for the event. The Archdiocese has not confirmed whether he’ll be participating or simply observing.

The grand marshall of this year’s parade is Ray Sheridan Jr., the son of Ray Sheridan Sr., the founder of the parade. The weather is forecast to be incredibly cooperative this year as currently mid-60s and sunny is the prediction. Usually it’s in the 40s this time of year.

Up to 100,000 people will be in town for the parade which caps off a weekend long celebration. The parade starts Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and has many special attractions this year in honor of the 50th anniversary.
