DiTullo to be New REDC Chief Pending Official Announcement

At Wednesday’s meeting of the Rockland County Legislature’s Economic Development Committee, legislators spoke of reports out of Orange County that Michael DiTullo would be the new CEO of the Rockland County Economic Development Corporation.

It seems the lawmakers are the last to know.

Al Samuels, CEO of the Rockland Business Association, and Dr. Cliff Wood, president of Rockland Community College, would not confirm the reports that former Pattern for Progress CEO DiTullo will be taking the helm at the REDC. They were asked by legislators Michael Grant and Harriet Cornell, as both Samuels and Woods are members of the Hudson Valley Regional Economic Development team put together by Governor Cuomo, and were giving a report to the legislature on Wednesday.

The fact that DiTullo has already resigned his job as managing director of the Orange County Business Accelerator is a good indication that the reports he will be the new REDC chief are accurate. The REDC CEO position recently was vacated by Ron Hicks.
