HAVERSTRAW BRICK MUSEUM CELEBRATES PRESIDENT’S WEEK AND BLACK HISTORY

On Sunday the Haverstraw Brick Museum will hold a presentation and display to celebrate Presidents Week and Black History.

The featured speaker will be Frances Pratt, president of the Nyack branch of the NAACP. Mrs. Pratt traveled from North Carolina to New York as a child. Her Civil Rights work earned her the 1986 Heroine Award from The NAACP. She was inducted into the Rockland County Civil Rights Hall of Fame. Nyack Hospital’s Emergency Room Lobby is named in her honor.

Come early for a good seat.

The Black History of Haverstraw will present documents, photos, and historic information on the work, lives and achievements of the village’s residents. Haverstraw was an early example of the hard work and social mix of life in the internationally known brick industry and a true leader in an early time in the history of our country.

The event will include historic information and photos of Presidents Washington and Lincoln.
