Car Larceny Arrest 2/3/12

On February 3, 2012 at approximately 8:00 p.m. the Clarkstown Police car larceny task force in coordination with the Rockland County Intelligence Task Force, the Ramapo Police Department, and the Haverstraw Police Department arrested Domingo Ferguson age 30 NY, NY, Luis Vazquez, age 22, from Spring Valley, and Joel Santiago, age 22, from Haverstraw. The task force had been following these three suspects who were driving and were occupants of a 1990 Honda. The Honda parked in the Stratford Arms, Congers parking lot. They then broke the window of a 2005 Chrysler and removed a GPS that was in the vehicle. All three were taken to police headquarters where they were arraigned and remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility in lieu of $75,000 bail. They will appear in Justice Court on February 8, 2012 to answer the charges of Criminal Mischief 3 degree (felony), Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5 degree (misdemeanor) Petit Larceny (misdemeanor) and Auto Stripping 3 degree (misdemeanor). The investigation will continue to determine if these individuals were involved in the numerous car larcenies that have plagued the county in the last several months. Driving While Intoxicated 2/3/12

On February 3, 2012 at approximately 4:30 a.m. a Clarkstown Police officer on routine patrol observed a 2012 Nissan stuck on a earthen embankment at No Main St and New Hempstead Rd New City. The driver was identified as Robert Lee, age 37, from New City. Lee was administered a field sobriety test at the scene which he failed. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was administered a breathalyzer test which he also failed. A check of his driver’s license revealed that his license was suspended. Lee was released on an appearance ticket later in the morning and will appear in Justice Court on February 13, 2012 to answer the charges of Driving While Intoxicated (misdemeanor) and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle (misdemeanor).

On February 2, 2012 at approximately 12:15 p.m. a Clarkstown Police Officer who was detailed for traffic control at Lake Rd. and Old Haverstraw Rd. Congers. He was directing traffic for a funeral possession. The officer had traffic stopped at the intersection and a vehicle that was stopped became very impatient and started the activate his horn and leaned out the drivers window yelling at the driver in front of him for holding up traffic. After the possession passed the officer stopped the irate driver and observed he seemed to be in a intoxicated condition. The driver was identified as Edward Tabaracci, age 50, from New City. He was administered a field sobriety test at the scene which he failed. Tabaracci was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was administered a breathalyzer test which he also failed. He was released on an appearance ticket later in the afternoon and will appear in Justice Court on February 22, 2012 to answer the charges of Driving While Intoxicated (misdemeanor) and Drinking Alcohol in a Vehicle (violation).

 

Driving While Intoxicated 2/10/12

On February 10, 2012 at approximately 12:10 am the Clarkstown Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Congers Rd Congers (no injuries). The driver of the vehicle was identified as Laura Nolan age 45 from Orangeburg. She was administered a field sobriety test at the scene which she failed. Nolan was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was administered a breathalyzer test which she also failed. She was released on an appearance ticket later in the morning and will appear in Justice Court on February 20, 2012 to answer the charges of Driving While Intoxicated (misdemeanor) and other traffic violations.

On February 10, 2012 at approximately 10:20 pm the Clarkstown Police received a cell phone call of a possible intoxicated driver southbound on Rt 304 New City. A police officer was dispatched and observed the vehicle traveling southbound on Rt 304 Nanuet in an erratic manner. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Frederick Fugah age 47 from Yonkers. He was administered a field sobriety test at the scene. Fugah was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was administered a breathalyzer test which he also failed. Fugah was released later in the morning on an appearance ticket to appear in Justice Court on March 14, 2012 to answer the charge of Driving While Intoxicated (misdemeanor), and other traffic violations.

 

Fraud 2/11/12

On February 11, 2012 at approximately 5:35 p.m. the Clarkstown Police responded to Gap Kids Palisades Center Mall on a report of a fraud The complainant (loss prevention) reported that a individual had just purchased merchandise with what appeared to be a fraudulent American Express gift card. A description was broadcasted over the police radio and the suspect later identified as Kareemabdul Harris, age 23, from West Hempstead NY was located attempting to purchase merchandise in Children’s Place with another fraudulent gift card. Harris was arrested and was found to be in possession with a number of other fraudulent Visa and Master Card gift cards. Harris was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was arraigned before Judge Johns who remanded him to the Rockland County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,000 bail. He will appear in Justice Court on February 15, 2012 to answer the charges of Possession of a Forged Instrument 2 degree 7 counts (felony), Pettit Larceny (misdemeanor), and Criminal Possession of Stolen property 5 degree (misdemeanor).
