Save The Animals Rescue Team II is holding a special adoption event from now until the last one is adopted.  This special adopt-a-thon event consists of cats ranging from 1-year and older, which includes spay/neuter, all shots and includes Leukemia and Aids testing for only $50.  Our furry guests range from boys and girls, black & white, orange to tabby’s, strip to solid, fat ones and skinny ones, and of course including their own unique personalities in which any cat lover will enjoy for many years to come.  We have done so well, that START II decided to continue this special event to find our guests a home they deserve.

Sixteen cats left are currently being taken care of at Save The Animals (START II) Rescue Team II, the no-kill, all volunteer, non-profit, local animal rescue group who works solely on donations, adoptions and fundraising efforts to continue its mission of saving lives.  For this special, people have been coming to the shelter to find their forever best friend.  Volunteers have been so excited that so many wonderful cats have been so lucky to find their forever home.  They have now received a second chance in life.  Since the group did so well on its cat adoptions, START II decided to saved additional adults by taken in more once room became available.

Save The Animals Rescue Team II spays and neuters its animals in order to help cut down on over population of unwanted animals has been doing a splendid job.  However, in order to help reduce the number of strays or unwanted cats and dogs, we ask the public to spay or neuter their pets and not let them loose to multiply in our communities.

Through no fault of their own, these cats in which some have grown up at the shelter, were all saved from euthanasia at local high kill shelters.  START II has a high adoption rate and is still in great need of cat adoptions.  Adoptions are necessary to help find these innocent furry lives a permanent loving home which they deserve and to make room for kitten season which is right around the corner.

For our younger new arrivals, all kittens will come with a free bed for any approved adoption. These beds were donated to the rescue group for their efforts in saving lives.  The beds normally sell for $79.99 each in a store.

In 2017, this amazing rescue group who donates their time and energy to help animals in need, successfully adopted out 270 cats.

Our Mission is simple.  Save The Animals Rescue Team II (S.T.A.R.T. II), is a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating the plight of homeless and abandoned companion animals. Twice a week we visit a local pound and take as many adoptable animals as we can.  These animals are provided veterinary care, clean living conditions, exercise and socialization. With 42 years in existence, S.T.A.R.T. II has an impeccable reputation in animal rescue.

Come and visit the non-profit, no-kill shelter online at www.startii.org to fill out an adoption application and volunteer form or follow us on facebook at facebook.com/savetheanimalsrescueteamii.  The shelter is conveniently located in Englewood.  The address is never given out until an approved application for the sake of the animals’ welfare.  You can also visit one of our other locations:  PetSmart Wayne 57 Rt. 23 cats only, PetSmart Paramus Rt. 17 North both cats and dogs, and PetSmart Nanuet located at 155 E. Route 59 cats only, and adopt your next new love.

If you love working with animals, START II is always looking for highly dedicated volunteers to join its team.  If you can find room in your home and in your heart to adopt a cat, please help and support us. These cats are at our mercy. START II provides the necessary care for our guest while they are with us and is our number one priority which requires the support of everyone in our community.

In addition to adoptions, Save The Animals Rescue Team II is asking for monetary donations.  Checks should be made out to START II, PO Box 177, Elmwood Park, NJ 07470.   You can also call us at 201-797-8861 or email us at [email protected]. Donations of any amount would help Save The Animals Rescue Team II volunteers ensure our shelter animals receive the necessary vaccinations, nutrition and basic care for all animals until homes can be found.
