DEEP FREEZE SETTLES IN: Weather forecast for December 29 – January 4

Hello, Rockland County! I hope that if you celebrated, you had an enjoyable Christmas. Now with the New Year quickly approaching, it’s time for the all-important New Year’s Eve forecast!

Friday: Very cold with mostly cloudy skies. A few flurries are possible. High near 18° after a morning low near 5°. Chance of snow is 30%.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy and very cold. Some snow showers are possible. High near 20° after a morning low near 6°. Chance of snow is 30%.

Sunday. New Year’s Eve: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy. Very cold and breezy with a high near 18° after a morning low near 7°. Chance of snow is 0%. Your midnight forecast currently calls for partly cloudy skies and very cold temperatures around 10-15°. Bundle up big time!

New Year’s Day: Partly cloudy and very cold. High near 15° after a morning low near 5°. Chance of snow is 10%.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy and very cold. High near 20° after a morning low near 7°. Chance of snow is 10%.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy and very cold. High near 21° after a morning low near 4°. Chance of snow is 10%.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy and cold. A few snow showers are possible. High near 27° after a morning low near 14°. Chance of snow is 30%.

SUMMARY:
As you can clearly see, we will be in a frigid pattern for the foreseeable future. If you are going to be outside, please familiarize yourself with the symptoms of frost bite and hypothermia. It’s vital you do so.

Additionally, we should remain mostly dry for the forecast period, but there’s storm threats for Saturday and Thursday. Models will change, so be aware of the uncertainty within the forecast.
